H.E. Prof Abdulrahman Al Yobi.
With a PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from Essex University in the UK in 1986, he has been in leading positions within King Abdulaziz University (KAU). He was Vice Dean and then Dean of Science College, Vice President of KAU, acting President of Jeddah University and then President of King Abdulaziz University since 2014.
He has a leading role in establishing few universities that emerged from KAU. KAU expanded during his time in multi dimensions: increase in number of colleges, research centers, incubators, etc. Quality also improved at KAU, when measured by number of colleges that received national and international academic accreditation. The University also enhanced its international academic position and reputation, as it is ranked the first in Arab World.
Prof. AlYoubi is consulted in many academic aspects by several government’s ministries, especially the education ministry. He published several books and many papers in referred indexed journals, covering two main topics: chemistry and higher education leadership.

Dr. Faisal Atbani

Dr. Faisal Atbani is an Assistant Professor of Law and Chairman
of Risk Management & Insurance Department in Islamic
Economic Institute at King Abdulaziz University. Faisal is a
board member of Saudi-Spanish Center for Islamic Economics
and Finance. He also is a member in the Accreditation Board
of the General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial
Institutions (CIBAFI).
Faisal holds a PhD in international financial regulation from
Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at University of London,
MPhil degree in commercial law from University of Wales and
B.A. degree in law, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
He published some academic papers and attended several
local and international conferences presenting issues relevant
to legal aspects in various financial fields. His main interests
are financial regulation, corporate governance and law
enforcement and compliance in banking, insurance and family
businesses.
In addition to academia, Faisal has long and wide practical experience with companiesand family business in the field of legal consultation and
corporate governance.

H.E. Dr. Santiago Íñiguez

IE University President
Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño is the President of IE University and a recognized influencer in global higher education. Iniguez is also the Vice-Chairman of Headspring, a company owned by the Financial Times and IE Business School providing custom education programs for companies worldwide.
Iniguez is the former Dean of IE Business School and has played a leading role in business education. He was portrayed by the Financial Times as “one of the most significant figures in promoting European business schools internationally”. He was the first European appointed as “Dean of the Year” by Poets & Quants (2017).
He serves on the boards of EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), Renmin University Business School (China), Antai Business School (Jiao Tong University, China), LUISS Business School (Italy), Mazars University (France) and FGV-EASP Fundaçao Getulio Vargas (Brazil). He is a past Chair of the Board of AACSB.
He is the author of “The Learning Curve: How Business Schools Are Reinventing Education” (2011), “Cosmopolitan Managers: Executive Education That Works” (2016), and “In An Ideal Business: How the Ideas of 10 Female Philosophers bring Values, Meaning, and Innovation to the Workplace” (forthcoming 2020), as well as co-editor of “Business Despite Borders: Companies in the Age of Populist Anti-Globalization” (2018), all published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Iniguez is a regular speaker at international conferences and frequently contributes in different journals and media on higher education and executive development. He is one of the 500 Global LinkedIn Influencers.
Iniguez is Professor of Strategic Management. He holds a Degree in Law, a Ph.D. in Moral Philosophy and Jurisprudence (Complutense University, Spain) and an MBA from IE Business School. He was a Recognized Student at the University of Oxford, UK.

Mr. Gonzalo Garland

Gonzalo Garland is Executive Vice President of IE Foundation, and Vice President for Strategic Global Partnerships at IE University, where he is also a member of the Executive Committee.
Prior to this, he was Vice President for External Relations, Director of International Relations, Vice Dean for Faculty and Director of the Economics Department. He studied Economics at Universidad del Pacifico in Lima, Peru, and at the Universities of Stanford and Pennsylvania in the United States.
At present, he combines his management responsibilities with teaching core courses on Managerial Economics, elective courses on Country Analysis, and several short executive education modules.

Dr. Celia de Anca

Deputy Dean for Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion at IE University
Dr. Celia de Anca is currently the SCIEF Director and the Director of the Centre for Diversity at IE Business School. She was previously the Director of Corporate Programmes at the Euro-Arab Management School (EAMS), Granada. She has also worked for the Fundación Cooperación Internacional y Promoción Ibero-América Europa (CIPIE) and at the International Division of Banco de Santander. She has a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Boston) and from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid. She holds a degree and PhD from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, with a comparative thesis on Islamic, ethical/ecological investment funds on the London Market.
She is the co-author of the Managing Diversity in the Global Organization, Macmillan 2007. She has many articles published in specialized journals about Islamic Finance and Diversity themes in addition to regular articles in the press. She is a member of the Ethics Committee of InverCaixa’ s Ethics Fund in Spain and a member of the International Scientific Committee of the University Euromed in Marseille, France and member of the Scientific and Academic Advisory Council of the Gender Equality project in Switzerland. Among others, she has received the award of the women executive of the year 2008 by the Business Women Association of Madrid (ASEME).

Dr. Ignacio de la Torre

Professor de la Torre is the Academic Director of the Master in Finance Programs at IE Business School and Partner of Arcano. With twelve years experience in diverse fields of investment banking (corporate finance, equity research, specialist sales of media stocks, generalist sales of European equities and derivative sales at UBS and Deutsche Bank), de la Torre has been involved as a Professor for IE for the last six years, teaching creative accounting, macroeconomics, finance & valuation courses. Professor De la Torre has also founded a business, the Internet retailer www.tododvd.com where he acts as a member of the board.
De la Torre’s research has been quite diverse. He recently co-authored El Final de la Crisis a book on the interrelations between finance & marcoeconomics in the credit crisis, awarded the Everis Prize 2009; in 2008 he published Creative Accounting Exposed (Mc Millan - Palgrave), a book on creative accounting practices and detection mechanisms. His dissertation involved the banking activities of Templar Knights during the XIII century (as a result, he later published in 2004 Los Templarios y el Origen de la Banca, praised by Nobel Laureate Sir Aaron Klug as, ‘a key step in research on the origin of banking’). Professor de la Torre also published a book on the origins of Islamism (Islamismo: Desvelando el radicalismo), commended by Jorge Dezcallar, former head of Spanish intelligence service (CNI) as ‘an excellent work for understanding the ideological roots of Islamism’.
Prof. De la Torre’s interests also lie in entrepreneurship and he has published two cases for INSEAD on the launch and consolidation of the Internet retailer solodvd.com). In finance, he has co-authored the case Xfera: What’s a fair price? The case of Spain’s 4th UMTS license, which was awarded best academic case by IE in 2003 and published in Revista de Empresa in Fall 2005, and co-authored The Phoenix Death (2009), awarded second prize in IE’s 2009 case competition.

Mr. Carlos García de Juana

Professor of Finance at Universidad Complutense and IE Business School
Professor García de Juana has an extensive experience in senior management positions with top ranked international financial firms. He currently ownes and manages a consulting firm and is involved in venture projects, including Colombian Mineral Resources Plc. (CMR), a holding company with investments in coal, oils and gas and natural resources and infrastructure, whre he is Chief Financial Officer and Director. During the past year he has served as Senior Advisor to the Masters Finance programmes at IE. He worked in Vega, a family of hedge funds (with assets under Management in excess of USD 13,000 million) as Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Vega Fund Holdings Agencia de Valores S.A. He was also director of Proxima Alfa Investements SGIIC, an Asset management Company resulting from a joint venture between BBVA and Vega. Prior to Vega Carlos worked in Banco Santander where he was Senior Managing Director in the Wholesale and Investment Banking Division having served as CEO and Director of a number of Santander international operations such as New York, London and Puerto Rico. MR. JOSÉ RECIO
SCIEF Director
José Recio is an international business development and project management expert with experience in the private and public sector. In recent years he has got involved in philanthropic projects, promoting digital transformation in the civil society, with the global nonprofit TechSoup.
He has a diverse background with international experience working in the USA, Spain and Saudi Arabia, working as leading project manager on a consulting and research project, producing country intelligence and industry analysis. He has also been part of the Haramain Highspeed Railway Project, as part of OHLA Group. He previously worked in the USA for the Trade Commission of Spain as an international business delegate in the American office based in New York.
José is a Business Management graduate with specialization in Finance by ICADE University in Madrid, he continued his education with a Graduate Program on Project Management at UC Berkeley, and a Master on International Business In the Center of Trade and Economic Studies of the Trade Commission of Spain.
