SPEAKER:

Dr. Edib Smolo is a highly experienced expert in the field of Islamic finance. He has worked for numerous multinational corporations and government agencies in different countries, developing an extensive knowledge of the field. With a Ph.D. from the Global University of Islamic Finance in Malaysia, Dr. Smolo is currently involved in academia as an Assistant Professor, Chair of the Finance Department, and Director of the Master of Science in Finance program at Effat University in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Smolo has made significant contributions to the field of Islamic finance. He has worked as an International Islamic Finance Manager at Tosan, Iran, and as an Islamic Finance Manager at Indra Technology Solutions Malaysia. While working at the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILM), he developed the first short Islamic instrument with a global consensus, which won the 2013 REDmoney global deal award. Additionally, he has worked as a researcher and coordinator for the Islamic Banking & Capital Markets unit at the International Shari'ah Research Academy (ISRA).
